3 The small power supply is for powering the UBA5 only, it does not provide the charge current.

4 The maximum battery pack voltage depends on the battery chemistry.

Notes:

  • All UBA5s come with a serial and USB cable, battery cables, software, manual, and unlimited technical support from our engineering department.
  • All UBA5s can discharge at up to 3A per channel with a 45W per channel limit
  • All power supplies are universal input, i.e. they work in North America, Europe, or Asia

UBA5 Features

  • Works with all battery chemistries (NiCd, NiMH, SLA, lead acid, lithium ion, lithium polymer and primary batteries).
  • Fully programmable: you can set all charge and discharge currents, voltage settings, and charge algorithms.
  • Includes pro version of the award winning UBA Console, easy to use and powerful software that allows you to graphically design your battery analysis routines and can simultaneously control over 100 UBA5s from one PC.
  • Can run one test cycle to check capacity or thousands to test battery life.
  • Comes with two channels that can each analyze a battery or can be combined with each other or other UBA5s for unlimited charge and discharge current.
  • Stores all results in industry standard text format that you can import into your favorite spreadsheet.
  • Battery temperature sensor option: use ours, use yours or use your battery's built-in sensor.
  • Two year warranty and 30 day money back guarantee.
  • Lead free/RoHS, FCC approval and CE Mark.

It comes with a power supply (120VAC or 220VAC input) that powers the UBA5's internal circuitry. The maximum charge current is 2A per channel (up to the charge power supply's limit). You can use the UBA channel combiner

60V UBA5 & 70V UBA5

The UBA5-60V has a maximum input of 60V can analyze high voltage battery packs, as follows:

It comes a small power supply (120VAC or 220VAC input) that powers the UBA5's internal circuitry. The maximum charge current is 2A per channel (up to the charge power supply's limit) and the maximum load is 2.4A per channel with a 45W limit per channel. You can use the UBA channel combiner to charge at twice that.

We also have a 70V UBA5 for 16S li-poly batteries

Accessories: Standard

The UBA5 comes complete with software, cables and a power supply. You just need supply the computer with serial or USB port.

On this page we offer some accessories that extend the UBA5's capabilities.

Set of Banana Plugs

The UBA5 uses standard banana jacks for connecting to your battery. The UBA5 comes with a set of banana plug cables. If you want to make your own cables then you'll need a set of banana plugs. Although you can pick them up at most well stocked electronics stores, why take the chance? Order an extra set with your UBA5 and save time.

Technical Reference Manual

The technical reference manual contains the UBA5 communication protocol and schematic with circuit description. It is required if you want to write your own software to control the UBA5.

Temperature Probes

The temperature probes allow the battery temperature to be monitored and to terminate charging at a specific temperature or dT/dt. The temperature is logged for further analysis.

The probes work for temperatures between 0 and 100 degrees Celsius. The Temperature Probes include the connector on the back of your UBA which is installed when you order the probes with your UBA5.

Magnetic Temperature Probes

The temperature probes allow the battery temperature to be monitored and to terminate charging at a specific temperature or dT/dt. The temperature is logged for further analysis

These probes use a small magnetic temperature sensor. This sensor attaches itself to NiCd, NiMH and lithium ion batteries and battery packs. It does not attach to lead acid nor lithium polymer batteries. The probes work for temperatures between 0 and 100 degrees Celsius. The Magnetic Temperature Probes include the connector on the back of your UBA which is installed when you order the probes with your UBA5.

Dual Optoisolated Digital Output and Temperature Probes

Module

This accessory has two opto isolated digital outputs and two temperature probes. You control these two digital outputs inside the battery analysis routines that you write.

Serial Port Opto-Isolator

Do you want to operate your UBA5 at a different ground potential from your PC? Then you need the Serial Port Opto-Isolator. This self powered isolator optically couples your UBA5 to your PC or to another UBA5. Use this isolator if the battery being tested is connected to equipment or to another battery being tested.
