Cold Light Sources
A cold light source is external illumination for microscopes or spectroscopes. Due to the greatly reduced infrared
content of the light, the sample is hardly heated. This is important for living biological samples that would be killed
by the heat of the halogen lighting. In the gemmological field cold light sources are used, because complex shaped
objects can be illuminated precisely and without shadows with a twin-arm light conductor.
